Although Siri did not disclose a word on Apple's "special event" this year, the prior Internet meme was confirmed on site during the launch of products on Wednesday in San Francisco.

Apple Inc, the US tech giant, unveiled plenty of new hardware, including iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, new Apple TV, iPad Pro, gold & rose gold Apple Watch and Apple Watch Hermès Collection, at the 7,000-capacity Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

"We are really firing on all cylinders, and we are about to make some monster announcements across several of our product lines," said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc.

Cook started the morning by taking up the Apple Watch, saying customer satisfaction for the new product was 97 percent.

"The new color and new watchband that debut today will bring fashion elements to Apple Watch," Fan Fan, a test editor of the Chinese-Language Car and Driver Magazine, told chinadaily.com.cn.

After the introduction of new Apple Watch collections, Cook then rolled out the "iPad Pro" with a 12.9 inch screen and said it had performance similar to a desktop computer. Apple showed off a "smart" keyboard and a stylus called "Pencil".

Apple said it had partnered with Cisco Systems Inc and IBM to help power the iPad pro, which it said is 1.8 times faster and has a 10-hour battery life.

Apple also announced partnerships with former rival Microsoft Corp and Adobe Systems.

"It's impressive to see Microsoft's engineer demo their software on iPad Pro when the Cupertino company unveiled a competitive product to the former's Surface tablet lineup," said Zhang Congying, a Chinese software Developer based in Dalian city.

Zhang pointed out that the iPad Pro is designed for professionals and office working environment, rather than household devices. He said the price of a 128 GB Wi-Fi iPad Pro is almost the same as a low version new MacBook Air, and he will choose the latter one.
