Chinese online hit Mom and Dad, I Wanna Go Home, about migrant workers is expected to end Hollywood director Mel Gibson's next movie. A friend of Gibson, a Chinese-American named Carrie Lee, recommended the Chinese song to Gibson for his new movie.

The movie is adapted from a South African novel about a young man who leaves his hometown and heads to a big city, trying to change his destiny. Years later, the young man becomes the mayor of that city.

It was reported that Gibson thinks the lyrics of the song match the plot of the movie, so he decided to buy the copyright to it. Mom and Dad, I Wanna Go Home is a simple, easy-to-follow song written for migrant workers in China. It became a popular hit online after its recent release.

Part of the song is expected to remain in Chinese when it is used in the Hollywood movie.
