China GrenTech Corp Ltd said in a statement that it has won a bid to supply WiFi coverage equipment for China Mobile Ltd's network serving facilities for the Olympic Games in 2008.

The Olympic WLAN network is a high-speed data transmission network that will provide wireless Internet access for users in Olympic stadiums, gymnasiums and surrounding areas in six Olympic cities including Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.

Nasdaq-listed China GrenTech is a radio frequency technology developer and provider of wireless coverage products.

The company said that in addition to supplying WiFi coverage equipment to China Mobile, it will also participate in the design and construction of the Olympic WLAN network.
