Opportunities galore at Asia carbon forum

SINGAPORE: The Carbon Forum Asia 2007 Trade Fair & Conference, a major platform for emissions trading, carbon abatement solutions and new technologies, will be held from November 6 to 7 at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Center in Singapore.

Carbon Forum Asia 2007, jointly organized by non-profit business organization International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and world's top exhibition organizer Koelnmesse and hosted by Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore, follows on the inaugural successful Carbon Expo Asia 2006 in Beijing.

The event is expected to provide vast business opportunities for private operators and public sectors around the world in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions as the carbon market potential will continue to grow exponentially in Asia with its economic growth, said Andrei Marcu, IETA president and chief executive officer, Saturday at a press conference in Singapore.

Some 120 exhibitors from 25 countries and more than 1,200 participants from 50 countries are expected to attend the event in Singapore, said Michael Dreyer, Koelnmesse's vice president Asia Pacific. The expo 2006 in Beijing saw 108 exhibitors from 20 countries and 1,062 participants from 44 countries.
