Chinese refiner China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec) has completed building a circular pipeline in Beijing to transport gasoline and diesel, its parent company said Monday.

The 101.5-kilometer-long pipeline, with an annual capacity of 2.85 million metric tons, originates from Sinopec's Yanshan refinery and links five storage tanks in suburban Beijing, China Petrochemical Corp said on its Web site.

Sinopec plans to transport cleaner fuel produced by the Yanshan refinery to fuel Beijing, due to higher environmental requirements ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games.

The Yanshan refinery has a capacity of 200,820 barrels a day and July 1 started supplying Beijing with gasoline and diesel compliant with Euro IV standards.
