The average price of Beijing's newly built residential property reached 11,352 yuan per sq m in the first half of the year, up 40 percent on 2006, according to the Beijing Real Estate Transaction Website.

And 253 residential projects, or 70,527 apartments, entered the market in the first half of the year, down 30 percent on the same period of last year.
