The China National Commodity Fair 2007 opened on August 2 in Hohhot, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking the autonomous region's 16th anniversary with the unprecedented event.

According to the fair organizer, various brands and specialties from China's ethnic groups will be shown at the four-day event, which attracted nearly 100 delegations, 1,500-odd enterprises and 6,000 clients from overseas.

The fair organizer founded the fair as an international event to expand the influence of domestic brands and boost local economic development.

Hohhot also uses the fair as an opportunity to open communications with the outside world.
