China Eastern Airlines, the nation's third-largest carrier, said Wednesday it has agreed to buy 30 single-aisle 737s from Boeing Co.

The Shanghai-based carrier said the order was for about $1.94 billion, based on catalog prices dating back to July 2005.

China Eastern said it is scheduled to take delivery of the new planes between July 2011 and November 2015.
