Sanlu ex-boss gets life for milk scandal

During the trial, he even knelt before the court, begging for victims' forgiveness. His brother Geng Jinzhu, who assisted in adding melamine, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Gao Junjie, who was found last year designing melamine-tainted "protein powder" in an underground factory in Zhengding county near Shijiazhuang, received the capital punishment with two years of probation. His wife Xiao Yu was sentenced to five years in prison. Two other people, Xue Jianzhong and Zhang Yanjun, were also accused of employing workers to produce about 200 tons of the powder, adding the chemical to raw milk and selling supplies to Sanlu for a profit of more than one million yuan.
