Tangshan Jidong Cement Co said on Thursday it plans to spend 165 million yuan ($24.16 million) to build a clinker plant in Southwest China's Chongqing with a local partner to beef up its presence in the region.

The Shenzhen-listed cement maker said it will own 55 percent of the new plant, which is designed to produce 3,200 tons of clinker per day, with the remaining 45 percent taken by Chongqing Jinqiao Cement Co, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The cement maker said earlier this week that it will invest 700 million yuan to build two clinker plants in Hebei, where the company is based.

The two Hebei plants, which will be built in two phases, are designed to produce 2,500 tons of clinker per day, the cement maker said in a stock exchange filing.
