CNOOC to boost offshore business

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) plans to build crude oil facilities in the Bohai Bay, gas production equipment in the deepwater area of the China South Sea, and LNG terminals in coastal areas. For the moment, the Bohai Sea has had accumulated proven geological crude oil reserve of 3.36 billion cubic meters. By the end of 2008, CNOOC, the biggest offshore oil and gas producer in the country, turned out only 16 million tons of oil and gas in the Bohai Bay.
