China-Uruguay trade shows dynamictrend amid global crisis

Bilateral trade between China and Uruguay has registered an increase amid the global financial crisis, a visiting Chinese commerce official said on Thursday.

China and Uruguay signed deals on wool, wood, meat and fish worth more than $100 million during a visit by a Chinese delegation led by Vice Commerce Minister Zhong Shan.

During the signing ceremony at the Foreign Ministry in Montevideo, Zhong said there are possibilities to continue promoting commercial and economic ties between the two countries.

China will continue taking measures to help its companies expand imports from Uruguay and to contribute to the healthy and sustainable development of the economic and commercial ties, said a statement issued by the Chinese delegation.
