BANGKOK - The Commerce Ministry is confident Thailand's exports for 2010 will grow at least 14 percent year-on-year, or equivalent to over $170 billion as projected, Commerce Minister, Pornthiva Nakasai said Monday.

The estimation is made amid the intense political situation as troops' operations have continued to besiege the anti-government rally site in central Bangkok aiming to pressure the protestors to end their over-two-month-long rally.

"It is expected that the political situation will ease soon," Thai News Agency quoted Commerce Minister Pornthiva as saying.
