The food zone near the Chinese city of Jilin is a proposed collaboration with Chinese regional authorities in agricultural and food processing, Temasek unit Singbridge said in a statement.

"The move will also diversify Singapore's food sources," Singbridge said.

Another Temasek unit, Fullerton Financial, said in a separate statement that it may set up village banks in Jilin city.
