Macao records 805,289 visitor arrivals during Spring Festival

MACAO - Macao recorded a total of 805,289 tourist arrivals over the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday, according to the figures released on Wednesday by the Immigration Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The figures showed that the number of tourist arrivals from February 2 to February 8 was 8.58 percent more than that of the same period of last year.

During the period, some 2.4 million visitors crossed Macao's seven immigration checkpoints, with the total visitor arrival standing at 1.22 million while departure standing at 1.18 million, according to the Immigration Department.

Macao's Border-gate checkpoint, which links the SAR with the Chinese mainland, logged the largest number of border movements, with arrivals and departures standing at 754,822 and 786,618 respectively, according to the Department.
