QINGDAO - Qingdao Port, China's second-largest port in terms of foreign trade, saw its cargo throughput up 13.2 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2011, the port's chairman said Saturday.

Meanwhile, the port handled 3.2 million TEUs (twenty-feet equivalent units) in the first quarter, an increase of 17.6 percent from a year earlier.
Chang attributed the increase to recovering international trade and the port's upgraded information systems.
