BEIJING - More than 50,000 lay-by parking spaces will be put into service in Beijing this year, and residents can book these parking spaces online, according to the transport operation control center (TOCC) of Beijing.
TOCC has launched a two-month testing service for 10 streets in Chaoyang district -- including Dongdaqiao, Chaowainan, Xiaoyun.
A total of 972 parking spaces in this area have an electronic toll system installed to issue the parking fee through geomagnetic sensors, according to TOCC.
The lay-by parking spaces project will be completed by the end of this year, and 54,793 parking spaces across the city will be installed with the system.
