Wison Engineering Ltd, China's leading private petrochemical, oil refining and coal chemical engineering company, signed two contracts with Saudi Basic Industries Corp to launch two service projects, marking an important milestone in its expansion into overseas markets.

Under the contracts, Wison will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the Sabic Hadeed De-Bottlenecking project and the Sabic Yanpet Benzene Mitigation project.

"These newly awarded projects will help Wison break into the international EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) industry and lay a new foundation for future market development in the Middle East, one of our most important strategic markets outside China," said Liu Haijun, senior vice-president of Wison Engineering Ltd.

Shanghai-based Wison, a subsidiary of Wison Group Holding Ltd, will provide EPC services for the de-bottlenecking project, a plant capacity expansion for the Saudi Iron and Steel Co. The same services will be offered to the Benzene Mitigation project to set up a treatment system to reduce benzene waste. This petrochemical project, expected to be completed in December 2013, will involve building a new benzene separation plant and renovating an existing plant.

"Sabic will give Wison support and both sides will make joint efforts to safeguard the quality and duration of the projects," said Rasheed M. Al-Shubaili, vice-president for Sabic Engineering and Project Management. "We look forward to growing and establishing a lasting relationship between Sabic and Wison in future."
