The China International Service Outsourcing Cooperation Conference concluded in Nanjing on June 20 with a range of achievements after company representatives, participants and industry leaders met to exchange opinions on the development of the sector, organizers said.

In its fifth year, the conference attracted 700 service outsourcing companies from 21 countries and regions around the world, 122 of which were overseas companies. The number of participants in the event surpassed 3,000 person-times, they said.

The value of projects signed at the conference totaled $970 million, up 45 percent from the $670 million of the previous session, making it the largest and most influential gathering in China's service outsourcing industry, organizers said.

The conference had 23 specialized seminars and 10 matchmaking meetings over its three-day duration.

Tailored seminars included events for Sino-overseas service outsourcing, communication service outsourcing, the China (Nanjing) International Forum on Biomedicine Cooperation and a gathering on talent strategies.

Nanjing's service outsourcing companies signed 50 contracts and letters of intent at the conference.

One of the biggest winners at the event was China Comservice subsidiary Jiangsu Corp.

The company signed a framework agreement with a US company to build its Internet-based television system. It also won contracts from telecom giants China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, ZTE and Huawei worth a combined $100 million.

The company signed another long-term agreement worth $480 million to install a trans-Pacific submarine cable and for work with Sri Lanka's national TV network.
