The revamped BMW flagship series was launched in Beijing on Sept 28, including the 730Li, 740Li, 740Li xDrive, 750Li xDrive, 760Li and the ActiveHybrid 7. The company only announced the price of the 740Li, which sells at 1.438 million yuan.
BMW's eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on all models.
The 750Li xDrive carries an improved 4-liter eight-cylinder turbocharged engine that is tailored to the Chinese market. It has better fuel efficiency than the old 4.4-liter engine, but offers the same maximum power output of 300 kW.
The new BMW 7 Series is 5,212 mm long with a wheelbase of 3,210 mm. It features the automaker's latest ConnectedDrive technology, which enables intelligent networking of the driver, vehicle and the digital landscape.
The top-of-the-line BMW sedan was first created about half a century ago and is now in its fifth generation.
China has been the world's biggest market for the 7 Series since 2009. The car is also the best-selling model in China in its segment.
