The CCIA is the official organizer for the 2012 Smart City Expo World Congress. This year, six Chinese companies, including CASIC, attended the expo. The Chinese delegation also includes officials from Wuhan and Guangzhou municipal governments, academic researchers from Tsinghua University and Tongji University and representatives from various industry organizations.

The expo, which was launched last year, has attracted many top level companies from the field of smart city solutions, such as IBM, Schneider and CISCO.

"We came here to show the world that China also has its own achievements in terms of smart city solutions and to exchange experiences with and learn from our foreign counterparts," Wang said.
