The global oil consumption will rise 0.9 percent year-on-year in 2013 to 90.6 million barrels a day, according to the latest report from the International Energy Agency.

Daily oil consumption in 2012 was at 89.7 million barrels a day, the report said.

The report predicts that oil consumption from the emerging economies, including China, India, Russia and Brazil, will continue to increase. On the other hand, the consumption from the most developed economies will remain stable or even see declines.

Japan's oil consumption next year will decline 3.6 percent annually, the report said.
