No quota limit over Taiwan film imports

(Xinhua) Updated: 2013-01-18 10:36

BEIJING - The Chinese mainland sets no quota limit over film imports from Taiwan, according to regulations publicized by the mainland's film regulator Thursday.

Issued by the film bureau under the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the regulations say any  film imported from Taiwan can be distributed on the mainland without quota limit after getting a permit for public screening from mainland film authorities.

Those films co-made by the mainland and Taiwan will enjoy the rights of a local film for distribution on the mainland, according to the rule.

China enlarged its quota for revenue sharing imports of foreign films from 20 per year to 34 per year in 2012.
