Hong Kong stocks close 0.97% lower

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 216.28 points, or 0.97 percent, at 22,069.24 on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 22,174.69 and 21,933.92. Turnover totaled HK$59.11 billion.
