Visa partnership makes global shopping a mobile choice
Visa Inc, the world's biggest card payments network, will provide cross-border mobile commerce offerings for online shoppers in China by partnering with e-commerce site comGateway that gives foreign customers access to stores in the US.
Under the agreement, a new mobile application will be introduced to make it easier for Visa holders from the Chinese mainland to shop at US online merchants via their mobile devices, said Niki Manby, head of emerging products at Visa, who oversees the company's Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and African affairs.
The initiative aims to extend a convenient and secure cross-border shopping experience, and addresses major concerns among international online shoppers including non-US issued credit card acceptance and shipping arrangements.
By registering on comGateway, Chinese customers may receive a temporary overseas address, which they fill in later during overseas transactions. The website will then re-deliver your products to your designated destination.
