Dunlopillo, a United Kingdom's bedding product maker, is making the push to further tap the Chinese mattresses market by increasing to 200 showrooms from current 77 and working with large furniture retailers.
Thinaharan Tangavelu, managing director of Dunlopillo Holdings Sdn Bhd, said they are targeting medium and high-end market in China, with price starting from 4,999 yuan ($806.2).
Dunlopillo, which is under the Pikolin Group, a leading Spanish bedding company with a solid presence in Portugal and France, has had strong sales in China between the year 2005 and 2008.
But their sales decelerated since 2012 by 5 percent. The company is expected to gain a growth of 20 percent by 2015 through better market positioning with a focus on medium market, according to the director.
Dunlopillo has nine manufacturing bases globally, with seven based in Europe and one in China and one in Vietnam.
