Flexible serviced office giant Regus plans to increase its number of business centers in mainland cities this year.

"Regus, a global workplace- solutions provider, is now studying and talking with partners to open its new business centers in a number of mainland cities," according to Edmund Eng, Area Director of Regus Shenzhen.

By the end of August, Regus, which entered the mainland market in 1995, has established nearly 90 such centers in more than 25 major cities in the mainland, Edmund said, and recently opened two new centers in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province.

"With the rapid economic growth in the Chinese mainland, the market for flexible serviced office will become larger and larger in the future," he told China Daily.

"The mainland market (for flexible office) is big enough to allow a large number of suchcompanies to expand and Regus never worries about competitors," he said.

In the southern Chinese region alone, Regus has opened 20 business centers so far, with seven and six such centers in Guangzhou and Shenzhen special economic zone.

Regus, which was established in 1989, is based in Luxembourg and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. The company has opened more than 2,000 business centers in 750 cities ofmore than 100 countries and regions.
