Smartphone launch timed for 'Double 11' festival

Smartphone firm Qiku Network Technologies (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, unveiled a new smartphone, the Dazen Note 3 Golden version, on Thursday.

This new model, created through a joint venture with NYSE-listed Qihoo 360 Technology Co Ltd and Coolpad Group Ltd, a major contract smartphone maker in China, has a fingerprint recognition function.

It is also equipped with a 360 OS (operating system), where users can be protected against harmful viruses and Trojans. It offers a safe, quick and power-saving experience.

Users can log onto social media platforms such as WeChat using two account numbers at the same time.

Li Wang, president of Qiku Technology said the company has two smartphone brands at present, the Qiku and the Dazen. "Qiku aims at high-end users, and the price will be targeted at 2,000 yuan and above, while Dazen is designed for young people, tending to be more fashionable and full of vitality, the price of which is about 1,000 yuan," Li said.

The Dazen Note 3 Golden will be available through online shopping malls including Qiku.com, Alibaba’s Tmall and Suning.com, from November 11, priced 999 yuan.

Li said Dazen Note 3 is aiming to be No1 in sales during the upcoming "Double 11" shopping festival, at a reduced price.

The entire online sales of the Dazen smartphone amounted to 560 million yuan during the last "Double 11". Up to this October, more than 10 million Dazen smartphone have been sold.
