HOHHOT - Walmart, the world's largest retailer, opened three new outlets in China on Friday.
The stores are in the cities of Erdos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Xianning in Hubei province, and Yiliang county in Yunnan province.
Hungry for a slice of the Chinese market, Walmart opened 10 stores in China in December, with most of them located in less developed areas.
The retailer said it will tap the potential of China's second- and third-tier cities with "great management and high-quality commodities and services."
It entered the Chinese mainland in 1996 and now has more than 430 outlets across the country.
