BEIJING - The number of investors in China's stock markets rose by nearly 1.3 million in January to 100.4 million despite repeated market swings, according to official data.
Every day in January, an average of 67,500 new investors entered the stock market, up from 48,600 the same month in 2015, according to data released by the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
The number of investors who traded shares this month decreased from 21.7 million in the first week to 16.62 million in the third week, indicating a tepid market mood.
