BEIJING - Agricultural Bank of China Ltd, one of the country's "big four" commercial banks, said Monday its board of directors had elected Zhou Mubing as its new chairman.
The bank announced the news in a notice filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Zhou replaced Liu Shiyu, who was appointed head of China's securities watchdog in February.
Born in 1957, Zhou became the bank's Communist Party of China secretary in May this year.
Zhou was formerly a vice chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), and prior to this, he was vice mayor of the southwestern city of Chongqing.
