BEIJING - Shanghai General Motors Wuling (SGMW) is to recall 12,485 SUVs over faulty transmission control modules (TCMs), China's product quality watchdog said.
The recall will start from Aug 16 and involve Baojun 560 models produced between Jan 5 and July 13 this year, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The company will replace the defective TCMs on the vehicles for free, the administration said.
Established in 2002, SGMW is a three-shareholder joint venture, with capital from SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Limited and GM China, a unit of US carmaker General Motors in China.
