The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission launched a competition in Beijing on Monday, designed to boost innovation and creativity among centrally administered State-owned enterprises (SOEs) on a platform with integrated resources.
The competition lasts from October 2016 to April 2017, during which innovative projects in areas such as cybersecurity, big data and cloud computing, artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, Internet of Things, and new intelligent cities, will be core targets. These most active fields now and in the future will strengthen the adaptability of supply structure and promote the total factor productivity.
By building an open platform to pool resources, the competition aims to facilitate the upgrade of central SOEs and explore high-level technology. The introduction of capital from various investment institutions and funds will serve as a rich seedbed to enhance innovative capability.
Under the guidance of the SASAC, the competition is supported by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Industry, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Ministry of Finance, and is hosted by the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.
