China is gearing up to promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation in a bid to transform China's low-end manufacturing industries to high-tech-oriented ones.

On Saturday, the Chinese Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Manufacturing was officially launched in Beijing, and is expected to assist in making and implementing governmental policies to boost innovation and economic development in China.

Chen Zhaoxiong, vice-minister of industry and information technology, said the alliance will integrate resources and give full play to the strengths and potential of all parties, promoting mass entrepreneurship and innovation in manufacturing.

"We will work actively with other relevant authorities to support the alliance to seek breakthroughs in the research and applications of innovative manufacturing."

"The alliance will research policy, to help make standards and plans for the internet plus manufacturing industry. And it will also build public service platforms to offer support for alliance members."

He added that the alliance should be better informed of the difficulties and challenges enterprises encountered and then can help make policies accordingly to solve those problems.

Initiated by the China Center for Information Industry Development, School of Information Resource Management at Renmin University of China, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp's CASICloud industrial internet platform, Haier Group and other enterprises and organizations, the alliance will be directed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
