Macao to hold annual int'l infrastructure forum
MACAO — Macao will hold the 8th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) on June 1, 2017 with more than 1,300 officials and representatives attending the two-day event, the special administrative region's trade and investment promotion department said Thursday.
Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute said the forum will attract over 1,300 participants, including over 50 officials of ministerial level from more than 40 countries and regions, representatives from financial institution, development bodies, contractors and equipment providers.
This year's forum will focus on the theme "together to build diversified, innovative, sustainable infrastructure." The main topics will cover the areas such as building smart city with a concern to climate change, development of countries along Belt and Road Initiative, and the potential opportunity brought by African Union Agenda 2063.
The third China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Infrastructure Cooperation Forum will also open at the same time.
IIICF, founded in 2010 by China International Contractors Association with the approval by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, serves as a platform of communication, exchange and cooperation for investment and construction of infrastructure.
