While most of her classmates were anxious to find jobs after graduating this summer, Teng Xiaoyu and her friends invested more than 200,000 yuan ($29,392) to open a gym in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province.

Two years ago, Teng took a part-time job in a gym because she wanted to lose weight, as well as save some money. While working at the gym, she passed a series of exams to become a certified fitness instructor.

Teng said more than 10 clients have ordered gym classes with her, and she plans to open a second gym this year.
