International ceramic fair draws 1,000 exhibitors to China's porcelain capital
NANCHANG - Nearly 1,000 porcelain businesses from more than 10 countries and regions have come to attend the 2017 China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair, starting Tuesday.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, China National Light Industry Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the provincial people's government of Jiangxi, this year's fair will be held until Oct 21 with 1,900 standard booths.
Special display areas for international porcelain brands, creative ceramics, high-tech ceramics and fine Chinese ceramics have been set up for visitors with specific interests.
The fair will feature activities such as a potting competition, ceramic auction, as well as seminars and forums on the ceramic industry.
First held in 2004, the China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair has become a major platform to show the world's finest porcelain and improve exchanges in the ceramics industry.
The host city, Jingdezhen, East China's Jiangxi province, is known as a world famous "ceramics capital". The porcelain made there is praised as "white as jade, thin as paper, with the sound of a bell and bright as a mirror."
