China's crude output hits record as growth rebounds

China's crude oil output rose to a record in December as the nation's economy rebounded from a seven-quarter economic slowdown.

It produced 17.94 million metric tons of crude in the month, up 5.6 percent from a year earlier, according to the Beijing-based China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, equivalent to 4.24 million barrels a day. Output totaled 207.5 million tons in 2012, an increase of 1.9 percent from 2011.
