Sarkozy may quit G20(Xinhua)
Updated: 2009-09-15 01:03 French President Nicolas Sarkozy may quit the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, the United States, next week if leaders fail to make any progress on limiting the bonuses of bankers, French media reported on Monday. "If there is no concrete decision, I will leave," Sarkozy was quoted by French daily Le Figaro as saying. Sarkozy is seeking to limit bonus payments for bankers at the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh on September 24-25.
Gueant said Sarkozy was "extremely determined." "There must absolutely be an agreement to make things and the president is absolutely determined on that score," he told RTL radio. Next week's G20 summit will be expected to focus on tightening global financial regulation. |
