Liu Chuanzhi is chairman of the board of Lenovo Group Ltd. Liu returned to the position of chairman in 2009 after previously holding that role from the company's founding in 1984 until Lenovo's merger with the IBM Personal Computing Division in 2005. Under Liu's leadership, Lenovo – originally known as Legend – rose from a small start-up to become the leading PC company in China and then a global company.
