SAIC Volkswagen's maiden large SUV model reached the market with three engine options and nine variants at prices ranging from 308,900 yuan ($44,773.54) to 518,900 yuan.
The locally produced Teramont is the world's first model powered by Volkswagen's latest EA390 2.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine outputting 500 Nm peak torque.
The off-road capability of the joint venture's latest model is enhanced by its 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and DCC, with eight driving modes.
As the carmaker's largest SUV, it carries seven seats with six-seat alternatives and the ability to fold the second and the third rows flat for expanded trunk space.
The model includes many features boosting riders' safety and comfort, including automatic LED headlights, an electric-powered tailgate, tinted windows, genuine leather-covered steering wheel, auto air conditioning with a Clean Air PM2.5 filter and keyless entry.
