UC Browser, a mobile browser service provided by UCWeb Inc, an Alibaba Group company, has become the world's largest third-party mobile browser in terms of page view share.
According to StatCounter, an analytic service, UC Browser, primarily driven by the growth in developing countries, has gained 11.1 percent of the market share worldwide, becoming the fourth most popular mobile browser after Chrome, Safari and Android Browser. Unlike the top three mobile browsers, UC Browser does not come by default on Android or iOS, which means it is the largest third-party mobile browser in the world.
UC Browser, which is already the No 1 mobile browser in China, ranks first in India and Pakistan in term of market share. Statistics from StatCounter show that it captured 41.23 percent of total mobile browser usage in India in 2014, up 9 percent from the year earlier. In Pakistan, UC Browser has already achieved 29.07 percent market share by the end of 2014.
