Taiwan IT company Acer has officially released a laptop model tailored to e-sports players, in Beijing.

The 21-inch IPS curved-display Predator 21X, which made its debut at the electronics trade show IFA in Germany in August, is the world's first laptop with a curved screen.

Acer China vice-president Ding Jianhui said there had been a double digit increase in sales of gaming laptops in the Chinese market in the first three quarters of this year.

In November, 24 percent of laptop sales were for playing games.

With a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels, seventh-generation Intel Core processor, two of Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards that run on five cooling fans, Predator 21X is priced at 79,999 yuan ($11,512).

Acer, a multi-national hardware and electronic corporation specializing in desktop and laptop computers, celebrated its 40th birthday two months ago.

"Acer has been dedicated to product development for four decades. We are here to provide users with leading products and solutions through innovation," Song Jinghua, president of Acer China, said, at the launch on Tuesday.

Other new models, including the Swift 7, Shadow Knight 3 and Spin 7 were also showcased during the event.
