Christina Applegate's breast wait
Christina Applegate can't wait for new "cute boobs" after having a double mastectomy. The 36-year-old actress, who decided to have both breasts removed three weeks ago after cancer was detected in one of her breasts, is looking forward to having reconstructive surgery.
Christina bravely joked: "After looking at all the treatment plans available to me I had a prophylactic double mastectomy. I just wanted to be rid of this whole thing for me. This was the choice that I made, and it was a tough one. "I'm going to have cute boobs until I'm 90. I'm going to have the best boobs in the nursing home!"
The 'Samantha Who' star, who plans to have the surgery in the next eight months, admits she has days where she struggles to cope with her emotions. Christina added to US TV show 'Good Morning America': "Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream. I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes. It's all part of healing. It's OK to cry, it's OK to fall on the ground and just scream if you want to."
The blonde star says she is now "100 per cent clear and clean" of the disease following a successful course of treatment. Christina has stuck to a macrobiotic diet and avoided processed foods since her cancer diagnosis.
