Kiefer Sutherland puts career first

Kiefer Sutherland is too busy for love.

The actor is focusing all his energies on his hit US TV show '24' and doesn't have time to pursue romance.

He said: "My relationship is with '24'. I owe her. It has taught me more about acting than any other job. In eight years I have made a group of friends who are like a family to me.

"I have other relationships, but I don't have as much time for that as I would like."

Kiefer, who has been through two divorces and was engaged to Julia Roberts, admits his failed relationships have put him off committing to a woman again.

He explained: "I have seen some of the greatest couples I know torn apart by marriage. People quit each other. They take everything for granted.

"I was married for nine years and wasn't successful at it. I am still best friends with my ex-wife but I try not to repeat the same mistake twice."

Kiefer has a 21-year-old daughter Sarah with former spouse Cameila Kath, who he married in 1987 before the pair divorced three years later.

The 42-year-old actor wed Kelly Win in 1996 but they separated in 1999. Kiefer filed for divorce in 2004 and it was finalised in 2008.
