Celine Dion miscarries?
Celine Dion has reportedly had a miscarriage.
Friends of the 'Think Twice' singer and her husband Rene Angelil have confirmed the 41-year-old songstress is not currently pregnant, despite the couple's announcement in August which stated they were expecting their second child following a successful cycle of in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
A family pal said: "While she and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting."
During the summer, a representative for the pair admitted they were thrilled to learn Celine was expecting a child using a fertilised egg which had been frozen for eight years.
At the time, the singer's Canadian representative said: "We can confirm she is pregnant. Celine and Rene are very happy."
Celine - who also has son Rene-Charles, eight, with her 67-year-old husband - first started trying for another child in 2007 after she completed her residency in Las Vegas.
She consulted fertility physician Dr. Zev Rosenwaks who suggested using a fertilised egg she had harvested in 2001 when she was trying to conceive their first son Rene-Charles.
He said: "She came back to have the embryos transferred back because she wanted to have another baby.
"She is feeling well. So far, so good. I look forward to hearing the foetal heartbeat. Rene and Celine are both looking forward to a pregnancy that is a healthy one. There is no question she is ecstatic."
