Young love is sweet for Candice Yu
Hong Kong actress Candice Yu, 52, is reportedly dating a man 22 years her junior. |
The 39-year-old singing superstar A-Mei is said to have taken a three-week break with her rumored lover, a bartender known only as "Sam Yao", before a series of seven concerts in Taipei.
Sam invited the singer to watch him play basketball because A-Mei has a penchant for young and sporty guys (she used to date basketball player Sam Ho, 11 years her junior).
The keen-to-please Sam, thought to be 32, has also quit smoking for the singer.
Another sex kitten who has grown into a certified cougar is the 52-year-old Hong Kong actress Candice Yu - who has managed to hook up with a man 22 years her junior.
A-Dee was, apparently, very insistent on pursuing Yu, even though she was feeling fragile and was happy to be on her own after divorcing her former Hong Kong racecar driver husband.
Yu has quite a storied past, since she also reportedly started dating the director Erh Tung-Sheng when she was as young as 14, then married actor Chow Yun-fat, a union that lasted nine months.
"Candice was very resistant at first," says one of Yu's close friends about her latest conquest. "But that man was very eloquent. Besides bringing Candice sweetness, he was also accepted by her two daughters."
"The most important thing is that he is true to me. I don't rule out the possibility of a flash marriage," Yu says of the new man in her life, adding that age is just a number and not a barrier to love.
This is obviously true for a lot of rich and celebrated older men, as in the case of "Heavenly King" and "manther" (male version of cougar) Aaron Kwok, who has been feeling the heat from his girlfriend model Lynn Xiong and has gone cold on her as a result.
The 31-year-old Xiong and 47-year-old Aaron have reportedly been together since 2006, though Kwok has never publicly admitted the relationship.
Recently, however, Xiong has been trying to get Kwok to take their relationship to the next level and has been dropping marriage hints. Kwok appears to have commitment issues and has been distancing himself from her, which is upsetting her.
For instance, at a recent personal appearance in Hong Kong, she came up with some strange logic suggesting her relationship with Kwok would never ever end, as: "We have never even admitted being together, so how can we break up?"
Xiong then said the pair was "just friends", adding that if she admitted they were more than just friends, no one would be willing to date her in the future.
For the rest of the interview she kept repeating that she didn't want to talk about her lover.
No stranger to Celebrity Sauce, the writer Guo Jingming has been named by Forbes China on its "30 Under 30" list, the only media figure to receive the honor.
The list highlights 30 successful entrepreneurs under the age of 30 in China, and the 28-year-old was praised for transforming himself from a writer into a sustainable business model.
Guo was China's richest writer in 2011, earning 24.5 million yuan ($3.9 million) in royalties. Not previously known for his modesty, he's obviously mellowing out and responded to the honor by saying: "I'm still a rookie in the business world."
