Kelly Clarkson is hoping her first child will be a girl.
The former 'X Factor' USA winner, who announced her pregnancy on Twitter, a month after tying the knot with music manager Brandon Blackstock, says she wants to have a little 'Miss Independent'.
Before the news broke, she told celebrity website Parade: "I'm totally gonna have a girl. I'm manifesting it! And when I have a girl, you're gonna be like, 'That chick knew it!' "
Despite relishing in her role of stepmother to Brandon's children, Savannah, 11, and Seth, seven, her own parents split when she was just five and the 31-year-old star admits she had her doubts when it came to her own parenting plans.
She said: "I didn't really grow up in a family environment. So I didn't understand it or know if I could do that properly."
But she says her husband has been her role model: "[Watching Brandon with the kids] is the sexiest thing ever! He's a great dad. It's such a turn-on!"
The 'Stronger' singer tweeted last night : "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)"
She recently admitted that her and Brandon wanted a baby as soon as possible, after marrying on October 20 in Tennessee.
Kelly said: "We're trying, trying, trying ... like rabbits! I want a little baby with little feet and I just want to bite them."
"They're so great. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."
