A wax figure of Olympic champion swimmer Ye Shiwen will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds Beijing, which will open in May in Beijing's historical Qianmen district.

The 18-year-old became an overnight celebrity when she broke a world record and an Olympic record in the 400 IM swimming event at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

In the summer of 2013, the Madame Tussauds team flew from London to Beijing and spent three hours measuring Ye’s wax replica.
