The Harry Potter star Emma Watson announced recently that she had decided to take a year off of acting in an interview with New York City-based Paper magazine.
The 25-year-old actress said she is going to focus on two things during her break, with one of them being her own personal development.
Watson further revealed that originally her plan was to enroll in a year long gender studies, but then realized how much she learnt by speaking to people and reading, and decided to keep on the path of listening and reading instead.
In addition to reading during her time off, Watson will also continue her numerous feminism-based projects.
The Brown University alum Emma Watson was appointed to be a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador in 2014, and launched the HeForShe campaign, which focused on motivating men and boys to push to end gender inequality.
Before taking her break, Watson will appear alongside Star Wars actor John Boyega in The Circle, and as Belle in Disney's live-action production of Beauty and the Beast.
